How to Choose a Fastpitch Softball Glove
How to Choose a Fastpitch Softball Glove
Choose the Right Glove for Your Position
Fastpitch-specific gloves have a deeper pocket designed to fit a larger softball.
- Infielders prefer shorter gloves for quick transfers.
- Outfielders choose longer gloves for added reach.
- Pitchers, first basemen, and catchers use position-specific gloves or mitts designed for added protection, control, and grip concealment.
Find the Right Size & Fit
Softball gloves are measured from the tip of the index finger to the heel, while catcher’s mitts are measured by circumference. Use age and position size charts to narrow your options, then prioritize comfort—the glove should feel secure, flexible, and easy to control.
